Will Time Warner Buy Twitter?

Twit At the BlogHer convention, a guest speaker from Time Warner, Lesley Pinckney, (apparently jokingly) suggested that Time Warner wants to purchase Twitter, reported Jaelithe Judy of Momocrats.

Her remark sparked some serious discussion about whether major mainstream media companies will be interested in purchasing existing micro-blogging platforms.

The question being debated on Predictify right now, courtesy of Jaelithe, is: "Will Time Warner make an offer for Twitter by July 20, 2009?"

I haven't gotten around to predictify on that one yet myself, but such an acquisition by a large media group makes lots of sense. The "mobile web" is where content has to migrate to, not as the only platform of the future, of course, but as a critical one.
